On Jan. 8, NAMCO BANDAI Games announced that the PS3 game Macross 30: Ginga o Tsunagu Utagoe (*Macross 30: The Voice that Connects the Galaxy*) will be released on Feb. 28. On the same day that the announcement was made, the key visual for the game and the boxart for the limited edition of the game, which was illustrated by Hidetaka Tenjin, were released.
Macross 30: Ginga o Tsunagu Utagoe is a flight action RPG that is being supervised by the co-creator of the Macross series, Shoji Kawamori. The game also features an original story by the writer of the novels for the Macross series, Ukyo Kodachi. The game is set in the year 2060, one year following the events of Macross F. The player takes on the role of Leon Sakaki, who crash lands on the planet Uroboros. During the game, players will meet many familiar characters from the Macross world, as well as be able to use many different mecha and weapons spanning the entire series.
On a side note, the opening and ending themes for the game are being performed by Haruka Chisuga, who recently won the Grand Prix award in the “Miss Macross 30 Contest”.
