New Sunrise Robot Anime “Valvrave the Liberator” to Begin This April

Sunrise, a Japanese animation studio and production enterprise, is a creator of many famous robot anime. Many big hits have been created by Sunrise, starting with its first anime Mobile Suit Gundam. Now, Valvrave the Liberator, their latest anime, will begin broadcasting this April. Let’s take a look at the anime’s main staff.

Kou Matsuo, who is known for directing the anime Rozen Maiden and Natsuyuki Rendezvous, is directing the anime; Ichiro Okouchi, who is known writing the anime Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion, is in charge of series composition; and Tatsuya Suzuki, who is known for his work on King of Thorn, is in charge of character design. The anime also has three mechanical designers: Kunio Okawara, who is known for his supporting role on Mobile Suit Gundam, Makoto Ishiwata, who worked on Psycho Pass, and Naohiro Washio, who worked on Fafner in the Azure.

One staff member in particular to take note of is manga artist Katsura Hoshino, who is known for her popular manga D.Gray-man, which is currently serialized in Jump Square. Hoshino is in charge of character planning for the anime. A well recognized manga artist working as the character planner on an anime is a rare event. Even in its all-star staff, Sunrise’s enthusiasm for this work is easy to see. Robot anime fans, mark your calendars for April!
