The first part of the list of exhibitors and display works for Anime Contents Expo 2013 (ACE 2013), which will be held from Mar. 30-31 at the Makuhari Messe convention center, has been announced. Sixty-four companies from last year’s ACE will again be participating. Compared to last year, significantly more participating companies have already been confirmed for this year. Furthermore, this year’s ACE will be twice as big as last year’s.
This year marks the second year for ACE. The first ACE was scheduled to take place in March of 2011, but due to the large earthquake that struck Eastern Japan, the event was postponed until the following year. Fifty-five anime-related companies, such as Kadokawa Shoten and Aniplex, had displays at ACE 2012 and 42 thousand people attended.
Opposed to last year’s ACE, which only had two areas, with one being for shows put on by invited voice actors and artists, a third area for ACE 2013, called the Open Stage, has been included. ACE is a very “hands on” event that includes free anime screenings, loads of goods on display from each company, a “new style collaboration food court” with a variety of food items to enjoy, a “concept cafe”, and more.
Ticket prices are 1,500 yen per day, and advance tickets are currently being sold. Furthermore, signups to view the stage shows will begin on ACE’s official site starting on Feb. 26.
