Ken Matsudaira Joins the Cast of “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Secret Gadget Museum”

Doraemon is arguably Japan’s representative anime. Its popularity spans over 30 years, and even movies based on the series have been widely popular. Starting from the first movie in 1980, Nobita’s Dinosaur, each movie in the series has been a huge hit. In 2012, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Island of Miracles ~Animal Adventure~ broke records and received the highest box office revenue of any movie in the series. Even after so long, the fanbase for Doraemon continues to expand. The reason for this is that Doraemon is a series that both kids and adults can enjoy. Aside from its easy to understand story, the series has humor geared toward adults.

On Mar. 9, a new Doraemon movie, titled Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Secret Gadget Museum will be released. The movie is making headlines for its inclusion of the famous japanese actor Ken Matsudaira (commonly known as Matsuken) as a voice actor. Matsuken plays a police officer from the 22nd century named Inspector Mustard, who is hot on the trail of the mysterious thief who stole Doraemon’s bell, DX. Inspector Mustard is a man in his 50s who has worked his way up through the ranks through hard work, and now, his work is his life. He was also introduced in the TV anime on Jan. 11.

Matsuken said that he is very excited to be working as a guest voice actor on the series. Along with the announcement, a picture of Matsuken dressed like Inspector Mustard was released. We can’t wait for Mar. 9!
