Since the announcement of Kyoto Animation’s (KyoAni) new original anime, Tamako Market, fans of KyoAni have been anxiously waiting for the anime to begin broadcasting. Finally the broadcast dates have been announced.
The anime will broadcast first on Tokyo MX on Jan. 9 at 12:30 a.m. Thereafter, it will broadcast the same day on Sun Television at 12:35 a.m., Kyoto Broadcasting System at 1:00 a.m., and Television Aichi at 2:05 a.m, with the exception of BS11’s broadcast on Jan. 13 at 12:00 a.m and Animax’s broadcast on Jan. 30 at 10 p.m.
In anticipation for the anime, the cast and staff have already been announced. Naoko Yamada is directing, Reiko Yoshida is in charge of series composition, and Yukiko Horiguchi is in charge of character design. Many staff members of Tamako Market also worked on the well-known anime K-On!. The main character of Tamako Market is a senior in high school named Kitashirakawa Tamako and is voiced by Aya Suzaki. Tamako’s childhood friend Tokiwa Midori is voiced by Yuki Kaneko, and a classmate of Tamako’s named Makino Kanna is voiced by Juri Nagatsuma. This is the first time these voice actresses will be part of an anime’s main cast. This is definitely a big break for all of them!
Whether you are a K-On! fan, a KyoAni fan, or just an anime fan in general, be sure to check out Tamako Market!
