Anime Town Nerima District Releases Maetel License Plate

As part of the promotion of Tokyo's Nerima district as Anime Town Nerima District, motorcycle license plates featuring the character Maetel from manga artist Leiji Matsumoto's famous work Galaxy Express 999 have been released. Matsumoto is an honorary citizen of Nerima. The license plate number 999 has attracted 39 times the number of applications for other numbers because of its association with Galaxy Express 999.
