Jigoku Youchien Project to Become an Internet Anime and Manga

Jigoku Youchien Project (original concept by Sugiyama, storyboard by Rintaro Otsuka), a group effort by Kadokawa Shoten, ASCII Media Works, Enterbrain, and Fujimi Shobo, is set to begin.

“Jigoku Youchien” won the Kadokawa Group’s 10 Chara Grand Prix contest that was held from August 2011 to March 2012. At first, the winning concept was planned to be made into a manga, however it was soon revealed that it would also be made into an internet series of Flash anime shorts with a live broadcast on Niconico.

The manga will simultaneously release in Kerokero Ace, Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh, Famitsu Comic Clear, and Monthly Dragon Age. Each 4-panel comic will revolve around a different character, and each of the 12 flash animations will be a minute in length. The flash animations will begin on Jan. 8, 2013 and will air each Tuesday on the Jigoku Youchien Channel on Nico Nico Douga.

The cast will include Yuuki Ono as Kiichi-kun, Kana Asumi as Sakyuba-chan, Rumi Okubo as Yuki-chan, Mariko Honda as Levia-chan, and Saeko Zougou as Kerubero-kun.
