Theme Song for Hunter x Hunter Phantom Rouge Announced!

Even though it has been halted many times since it first began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998, Hunter x Hunter still remains tremendously popular. With volumes 31 and 32 of the comic being released in December 2012, as well as the publication of the Kurapika Flashback story arc, it seems like everyone lately is talking about Hunter x Hunter.

2013, which marks the 15th anniversary since the series was first serialized, is looking to be a great year for Hunter x Hunter. On January 12, the first movie in the Hunter x Hunter series, Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge, will begin screening. The movie will introduce fans to the original character Retsu.

The movie will have two theme songs. The first song, titled “Nagareboshi Kirari”, will be sung by Megumi Han, who voices the main character Gon, Mariya Ise, who voices Killua, and Aya Hirano, who voices the new character Retsu. Other than Hirano, this song marks the first time that Han and Ise will perform a song as themselves.

The second theme song, “Reason”, will be performed by the two person group Yuzu. Since these songs serve as an introduction to the movie, they are sure to become essential.
