Following its name, Hero’s is a monthly manga magazine that features manga themed around heroes. Since its inaugural issue in November 2011, a new label called Hero’s Comics has started and its first volume has been released. Having recently celebrated its one year anniversary, Monthly Hero’s is pouring all of its efforts into enriching the quality of its manga lineup, with new manga being serialized in every issue.
The January issue of Monthly Hero’s, which was published on Dec. 1, 2012, features the start of Fujihiko Hosono’s “Gallery Fake” and “Double Face”, as well as “Assassin Ichiro”, which was written by Hosono and illustrated by Hideo Shinanogawa.
Also included in the January issue is a special feature on the popular work “Majestic Prince”.
In the November 2012 issue of Monthly Hero’s, it was announced that Majestic Prince, which is currently being serialized in Monthly Hero’s, is becoming an anime called Ginga Kikotai Majestic Prince. In commemoration of this, Monthly Hero’s ran a special feature in the January 2013 issue that includes an interview with the anime’s director, Keitaro Motonaga, and organizer, Rando Ayamine. The anime will take place in the same world as the manga, but will tell a different story.
As of Nov. 26, the 13 latest manga from the January issue are available to read on the magazine’s website. An English version of the site has also opened, which is sure to garner a lot of attention from other manga magazines who haven’t jumped on this trend yet.
