Smaller than I expected

The figure is designed as I would expect but it's smaller than I was expecting, comparing it to the Hatsune Miku BiCute Bunny figure I got for a comparable price. Metallic red paint is very nice, but the ears are almost too easily lost in the packaging as well as being small and fragile. I suppose saving on plastic window box inserts is now the theme, opting for recyclable cardboard inserts. Methinks this was intended as a game prize.

Flocking is a special feature!

I have never watched Code Geass at all. But C.C. is well known anyway. I have a fondness for bunnygirls, so this figure had to be part of my museum. Her ears and tail have a special flocking on the surface making them soft to the touch! Although she has a card in her hand (the rest of the deck could have been in her other hand), having C.C. holding a pizza would have made more sense. Beautiful bright green hair. Obviously meant to be a UFO catcher prize.

Affordable Hatsune Miku figure for once!

The affordable price point makes Tamashii Buddies figures as collectible as Funko Pops - and I have that figure, too! I don't yet own enough Tamashii Buddies to see the interlock feature work. I could see these adapted for use as bookends!

Tamashii means "soul" in Japanese. Not sure why this line is Soul Buddies but they had to give it a name and that's as good as any.

Tiny figure, big price

The product listing didn't specify this tiny figure's size. It ended up costing $35 for a book and a figure as big as a pill bottle. I feel victimized for being a Cardcaptor Sakura fan. Still it is high quality but the price tag was steep.

No embossed name on the card

I opted for the the budget shipping option with tracking and mail system delays are not something Tokyo Otaku Mode can do anything about. The lip gloss item is well made which surprised me. However, after making a point to enter my name in the field for what was going to be on the card, my name completely failed to get embossed on it. What happened? I could probably still find some way to get it put on there, but really. Ask people for what name to put on the card, and then actually remember to follow through. At least my membership number was right.

Rather small for the price

Among the various Vocaloid or Hatsune Miku collectibles or toys out there, this is about the cheapest you can get, provided shipping isn't an issue. However, this is about as big as a McDonald's Happy Meal Toy, which unfortunately kills the joy of having such an item. If this had come out 10 years or so earlier, this would have sold for $7 to $10 easily and still would have sold well. Also this toy seems to have a slightly fragile pull-back mechanism, as mine managed to fall onto the floor and didn't work like it did the first time I tried it. I managed to get it disassembled and with a little work, got it functional again. So be sure not to drop it!! Try to wait for this to g...Read moreClose

Bring a little anime world into the real world

Rarely do fans of A Certain Scientific Railgun get to bring their world into our world, but this does it perfectly. The only weak point of items like this is that little spring loaded closing hook - I removed the one on mine and connected the loop in Gekota directly to the loop the hook clipped on - and then superglued the screw hook into Gekota. I've lost more things like this than I care to count, so taking these precautions will hopefully prevent the loss of a treasure.

High quality presentation

If this was released as a doujinshi, this was done with a high production value. Full color images in this booklet of artwork. If gift wrapping is free, get it. It's as awesome as this booklet. I tend to like cute artwork like this, some may not. Each page is a frameable masterpiece in itself.

A lot of fun in a Miku Singing Keyboard!

It's a shame I haven't yet gotten the full potential out of this amazing device yet, since I haven't tried to use it as a MIDI singing sequencer device, one of its many functions. It might be due to the booklet being in Japanese and needing translation that would open up this use (setting up MIDI data to properly trigger it), but otherwise, a lot of fun. It's nice to see the expressions on people's faces when you bring it out, turn it on, and demonstrate what it sounds like.

I wanted to order another in 2016!!

My first order on TOM was the Hatsune Miku singing keyboard and my Miku lucky bag had another one! I was hoping for a bag of nothing but Miku items, maybe even a figure or 2, but instead got a plethora of other items, clear files, and whatnot. I did want the Scientific Railgun pop can coin banks, so that was a big bonus. Miku Expo poster was meh, but hey, I would have had no other way to get it otherwise. Some items I sold to friends (like a One Piece calendar), so I really enjoyed this purchase.

Always order lucky bags!

It actually came with more value than I paid! One figure I got in my bag I recently saw listed for $95 in Previews. One figure was from Attack on (a) Titan, so I gave that away, not exactly a fan of it. Some bags are a bit more lucky than others, but still a lot of fun to see what you get.

Budget version of Nendoroid Sakura Miku #500

There are 2 versions of Sakura Miku. This is the budget-priced version, #499. The Deluxe is #500. If you're looking to get a Miku Nendoroid but choke at the prices they typically go for, this is a nice start. If you want all the additional parts, then #500 is what you want. It's Hatsune Miku in pink, with a few extra pieces to have some fun with. If you're creative enough, you can make the most of it when taking photos.
