Hi everyone! I’m Sarah. I’ve played many different roles at TOM to date: customer support, fashion merchandising, marketing, and more! I’m a lifelong fujoshi (I love yuri, too!), and I enjoy a little bit of everything--anime, manga, visual novel games, books, console RPGs… I’ll probably spend the rest of my life working through the giant backlog of everything I want to read, watch, or play.
My all-time favorite anime is Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Soukyuu no Fafner comes in a close second. Lately I’ve been horribly hooked on Final Fantasy XV! Of course I loved Yuri!!! on Ice (Vituuri is life), but all our Yuri!!! products sell so fast that I’m afraid to recommend them--they just might sell out by the time you see this page!
I’m originally from the East Coast of the United States. I moved to Japan about 6 years ago, but I didn’t come to Tokyo right away. First I spent a while in quieter cities to the west and southwest--mainly Kumamoto, Kyoto, and Himeji. I really love the everyday scenery that comes with living in Japan! Rice fields seen from the window of a train cutting through the countryside, mountains against the distant sky, neighborhood bakeries and old-fashioned coffee shops and little vegetable stalls, the lights and drums of local festivals….
But to be totally honest with you, I like the 2-D world best of all! :P

I used to be pretty skeptical about Love Live. Then I started watching Sunshine, and it blew me away. Afterward, of course, I went back and marathoned the original Love Live. NicoMaki forever!!
When you’ve been into anime and games for a while, you start to get pretty accurate at predicting who your favorite character will be. In Sunshine, Hanamaru is clearly best girl. But going into it, I had no idea I’d end up being a giant Hanamaru fan! It’s such a pleasant surprise when a character seizes your heart out of nowhere.
PS. She also graces the February 2017 cover of Dengeki G's Magazine. She’s such a perfect cinnamon roll… too good for this world….!

I have one of these little guys at home (I also gave one to my parents a few years ago). I’ve been sleeping so well lately that now it functions more as a decorative plushie than as a sleep aid. However--I can tell you from experience that it’s a very useful way to calm down after you stay up late playing games or watching anime and get too hyped to sleep!

This stunning tapestry is one of the items we brought to the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2016. I helped man the Tokyo Otaku Mode booth there, and the first time I saw this piece in person, I just could not believe the incredible quality and stunning colors. On top of that, it’s enormous! As long as you think you’re ready to handle the sexiness, it could very well become the centerpiece of your collection.

January and February are the coldest months in Japan. At least in Tokyo, December feels comparatively mild. At this bone-chilling time of year, there’s nothing better than a nice down coat.
Here’s a confession: I knew almost nothing about LIZ LISA before my tenure on TOM’s fashion buying team. But as I got to know the brand (and learned more about the incredibly passionate fan community outside Japan), I became deeply impressed by the detail and quality of their designs. Take this coat, for example: the Peter Pan collar, the big ribbon in front, and the lace peeking out from below the faux fur tippet all help set it apart from standard down jackets. Plus, the ribbon and tippet can be removed whenever you’re in the mood for a different, more streamlined look.
PS. We just added a bunch of new LIZ LISA garments for the first time in a very long time! We’re super excited to keep strengthening our partnership with them and look forward to delighting you with lots of more new LIZ LISA in the months to come.
I love Aria so much that I’m going to Venice for my honeymoon (actually got married a few years ago--we’ve just been too dang lazy to sit down and plan out our trip). Seriously, though, the Aria anime means a lot to me. Watching it soothed my stress in college, and after I joined the working world, Aria was what kept reminding me to enjoy & make the most out of every minute of everyday life.
I never expected there to be such a beautiful new Aria figure so long after the series ended. If they make figures of the other main characters, I’ll have no choice but to buy them all!
