Yu-Gi-Oh! Merchandise
Yu-Gi-Oh! is a classic manga series written and illustrated by Kazuki Takahashi. Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, Yu-Gi-Oh! was also adapted into two hugely popular TV anime series first by Toei, and later by NAS/Studio Gallop. Yu-Gi-Oh! Has also spawned several spin-offs including its very own real world trading card game.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Is the story of the timid young boy Yugi Mutou who loves puzzles and games. One day he solves the mysterious Millennium Puzzle which results in his body being possessed by the spirit of a gambler. Now, whenever someone is threatened by the darkness in their own hearts, the other Yugi challenges them to Shadow Games with the loser being subject to Penalty Games.
The games take many forms but the most common is that of the trading card game Duel Monsters which appears in the Duelist Kingdom and Battle City Tournament arcs of the original manga. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime makes Duel Monsters the focus of the story where the game is played with a holographic image system created by Seto Kaiba. In the Toei anime and the manga, the matches were performed on Duel Boxes but Duel Monsters replaces these with Duel Rings. Eventually, during the Battle City arc these are also replaced by Duel Disks using Solid Vision Technology which allows the games to happen anywhere.
