Yoshiyuki Sadamoto

While many might not recognize Yoshiyuki Sadamoto by name, anyone familiar with the anime and manga world would. As a character designer, animator, and manga artist, his contributions and works are well-known throughout the world.

Even as one of the founding members of anime studio GAINAX, Sadamoto is best known for something else - being the co-creator of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series alongside another of GAINAX’s co-founders, Hideaki Anno. Sadamoto can be credited with a significant portion of the art, story, and the design of characters like Rei Ayanami, Shinji Ikari, and the rest of the cast.

But Sadamoto has also had multiple hands in other fan-favorites, like character design for the FLCL OVA, the .hack//Sign anime, and hit films The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, Summer Wars, and Wolf Children!
