Yoshi Merchandise

First appearing in the 1990 video game Super Mario World,Yoshi is one of the heroes of the Super Mario franchise alongside Mario and Luigi and is a green member of the Yoshi species (scientific name T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas).

Yoshi was created by Shigefumi Hino and has been voiced by Kazumi Totaka, Andrew Sabiston, and Frank Welker. He resembles a dinosaur and is depicted as a sweet and friendly character. His unique abilities include laying eggs, his flutter jump which allows him to hover in the air, and his prehensile tongue which he can use to reach distant objects or enemies.

Since his first appearance he’s become one of the most popular members of the franchise and has since gone on to appear in many Super Mario video games including the Mario sports titles, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy and adaptations like the Super Mario World television series, and has even received his own games in the Yoshi series like Yoshi’s Story and Yoshi’s Woolly World!
