Touhou Project Merchandise
Originally a series of doujin games developed by Team Shanghai Alice (who, despite the tricky name, is one person called ZUN), Touhou Project grew into a media franchise with a vast array of fan-made manga, anime, music, and even light novels.
Taking place in Gensokyo, a world where humans and yokai coexist, the protagonist of the original game series is the shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei, who is later joined by Marisa Kirisame. Especially in comparison to other shooters, the games have an exceptionally large character cast, most of whom are bishoujo with only a handful of exceptions. Some of the more well-known characters include Satori and Koishi Komeiji, Remilia and Flandre Scarlet, Sakuya Izayoi, Alice Margatroid, or Youmu Konpaku.
