My Melody Merchandise
My Melody is a classic character created by Sanrio in 1975 which takes the form of a cute little rabbit girl who always wears a red or pink hood which covers her ears. Most popular during the 1980s, My Melody featured on stationery, stickers and candy, but since a relaunch in 1997 a full range of character goods began to appear.
My Melody also received a TV anime adaptation under the name Onegai My Melody produced by Studio Comet in 2005. The anime also led to a series of video games for the Nintendo DS beginning with Onegai My Melody: Yume no Kuni no Daibouken which was followed by My Melody Angel Book: Denshi Techou & Enjoy Game.
My Melody has also collaborated with several doll and collectible toy franchises including a Pullip doll which comes with a Flat the Mouse accessory, a Barbie doll, and a plush toy available from Build-A-Bear Workshop in honor of Sanrio’s 50th anniversary.
