Illustrated by Puyo as a spin-off to Nagaru Tanigawa’s monumental Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan is a manga series that has seen its own success. Written as a romantic comedy that takes place in an alternate universe giving everyone’s favorite characters different personalities and relationships, it began its serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace in July 2009 before receiving an anime adaptation by Satelight in 2015.
In the Disappearance universe, with Haruhi having not formed the SOS Brigade, the non-alien Yuki Nagato is allowed to enjoy North High’s Literature Club with Asakura and Kyon before finding herself wrapped up in the mysteries that the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise is known and loved for.
