Super Sonico Merchandise

Super Sonico is the mascot character for Japanese media company Nitroplus created by Tsuji Santa. First developed for their Nitro Super Sonico festival in 2006, Sonico has since gone on to conquer almost every form of media, from anime and manga to games and music videos.

An 18-year-old college student, Sonico is always shown wearing her trademark headphones and also operates as a gravure idol as well as providing vocals and guitar for the band First Astronomical Velocity where she plays a cherry red Gibson SG electric guitar with batwing pickguard and black pickup covers called “Daydream.” Probably because she works so hard for Nitroplus, Sonico also likes to sleep a lot and is extremely fond of macaroons.

Sonico also became the star of a TV anime series SoniAni: Super Sonico the Animation produced by White Fox and a 4-koma manga Super Sonico SoniKoma. She has also been a popular merchandise subject with figures produced by Max Factory, FREEing, Orchid Seed, and Hobby Japan among others.
