Sanrio Co. Ltd., is one of Japan’s top character goods companies which produces a selection of merchandise themed around their stable of cute character mascots.

Sanrio’s most famous character is the ubiquitous Hello Kitty - an anthropomorphized little girl cat with a bow in her hair. Some of Sanrio’s other best known characters include the penguin Bad Badtz-Maru, pink rabbit Bonbonribbon, Charmmykitty, brown puppy Chibimaru, Chococat, puppy Cinnamoroll, Gudetama egg yolk, the frog Keroppi, Monkichi monkey, and rabbit My Melody.

As well as their original mascots, Sanrio also produce a range of merchandise centered around Peanuts characters including Snoopy and Woodstock as well as Mr. Men and Little Miss.

Sanrio also produced a number of animated movies involving their characters in the ‘70s and ‘80s, but have also moved into TV anime with several Hello Kitty series as well as Onegai My Melody, Flint the Time Detective, Sugar Bunnies, the Jewelpet series, and Show By Rock!!.
