Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is the stage name of massively popular Japanese pop star and fashion model Kiriko Takemura. Kyary has become famous the world over thanks to her crazy music videos which always attract a lot of attention online, starting with her debut video for "PonPonPon." Like her videos, Kyary’s look is inspired by the “Kawaisa” and “Decora” fashion trends centered in trendy Harajuku and have a definite “cute” and zany theme.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s music is produced by Yasutaka Nakata of the electronic music group Capsule and her best known single is 2011’s "PonPonPon" which made the top 10 of the Japanese music charts. Her full-length albums Pamyu Pamyu Revolution, Nanda Collection, and Pika Pika Fantajin have also proved enormously successful, and Kyary signed a deal with Sire Records in 2013 to distribute her material in the United States.
