Knights of Sidonia Merchandise

Written by Tsutomu Nihei, the mecha manga Knights of Sidonia began its serialization in Kodansha’s magazine Afternoon in 2009. It takes place in the year 3394, long after humans were forced to flee Earth when it was destroyed by shapeshifting aliens called Gauna.

They live on a ship called “Sidonia,” surviving through a combination of human cloning, genetic engineering, and human photosynthesis. It follows Nagate Tanikaze, one such survivor on Sidonia, as he trains to become a Guardian pilot, a group of people protecting Sidonia from the Gauna.

The manga ended in 2015 and has also received multiple anime adaptations including TV anime and a film.
