Groove
Groove is the South Korean toy manufacturing company responsible for the massively popular Pullip range of collectible dolls. First created by Cheonsang Cheonha, Pullip is a series of 1/6th scale articulated dolls with an oversized 1/3rd scale head which has movable eyes that can blink.
The Pullip range often collaborates with internationally famous artists such as Tokidoki or even fashion brands like Baby, The Stars Shine Bright as well as popular manga and anime franchises including Black Butler, The Rose of Versailles and Rozen Maiden. Of course, they also take inspiration from classic fairy tales and children’s stories too as in their collection of Alice in Wonderland themed designs, as well as their vast numbers of completely original dolls too.
In addition to the original female Pullip doll, there are now a few more doll types including her boyfriend Namu, her new boyfriend Taeyang, Pullip’s 13-year-old sister Dal, Dal’s best friend Byul, Pullip’s 15-year-old brother Isul, and Yeolume - Pullip’s future daughter. Groove also launched the “Little Pullip” series which is a 1/12th scale doll with a 1/6th scale head that stands at 4.5” tall.
Pullip dolls come in hundreds of collectible editions but the great thing about them is that they encourage you to mix and match designs to customize as you please and come up with even cooler doll outfits of your own. To this end Groove also sells a number of accessory sets and outfits including wigs and eyes as well as shoes and clothing that you can use to create the perfect look for your perfect Pullip doll!
