Gakken Publishing

Gakken Publishing, founded in 1947 by Hideto Furuoka, is one of Japan’s leading publishers of magazines and education materials.

Gakken publishes a number of top selling anime- and manga-related periodicals including Seiyu Animedia, Animedia, Megami Magazine, Otomedia, and the music-themed Potato. Gakken also publishes fashion magazines too including Pichi Lemon and Mer, as well as their educational output which includes the Otona no Kagaku magazine series.

However, Gakken also operates as a publisher of stand alone books which includes everything from glossy photo books to manga, cook books, and instructional volumes with a strong emphasis on education.
