One of the most well-known characters in the Evangelion series, Asuka Langley is the pilot of the Evangelion Unit-02 throughout the series, including Neon Genesis Evangelion, End of Evangelion, and the tetralogy reboot Rebuild of Evangelion where her last name is changed from Soryu to Shikinami.

A young but capable pilot, Asuka loves to call her companions names, becomes easily jealous, and seems to have a bit of a crush on Shinji Ikari! Confident in her skills and wanting to prove herself to both NERV and those around her, Asuka agrees to test pilot Unit-03...but this decision is one of the turning points in her story that changes her from a happy teen to a battle-hardened woman.
