When drawing character illustrations, my main focus is capturing the essence of line art and translating objects and spaces onto a two‑dimensional plane. I feel that ukiyo‑e represents both the origin of this approach and one of its perfected forms. I am deeply honored to have been given this opportunity to showcase collaborative works alongside the great masterpieces and cultural traditions that have profoundly influenced me. Hokusai's paintings possess iconic expressions that define each piece—be it the waves in "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" or the cherry blossoms in "Fuji Seen from Goten-yama at Shinagawa, on the Tokaido." These elements blend exceptionally well with Hatsune Miku, who can take on countless forms when combined with different concepts.
