Saki Miyanaga is a first-year student at Kiyosumi High School who has grown to hate mahjong due to her family forcing her to play it since she was a child and punishing her regardless of whether she won or lost. Because of that, she became extremely skilled at keeping her score at 0 so that she would neither win nor lose, a feat said to be more difficult than even constantly winning. However, upon entering high school a friend of hers from middle school named Kyotaro Suga convinces her to join the mahjong club. After witnessing her extraordinary skill, the club members recruit her and convince her to start winning instead of breaking even, which causes her to discover a newfound love for the game. Now, together with the members of the club, she begins giving it her all and fights to make it to the national tournament.
