In 2012, the world is ravaged by a man-made virus which leaves only children under the age of 13 unaffected. At the same time, vampires suddenly rise up from the earth and conquer the entire planet leading the surviving humans to “safety” underground. The vampires’ protection is exchanged for blood donations from the human survivors. Twelve-year-old orphan Yuichiro Hyakuya decides to escape from the Hyakuya Orphanage along with some of the other children, but many of them die in the process and Yu’s own friend Michaela sacrifices his life so that Yu may escape. After being saved by the Moon Demon Company, an extension of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, Yu vows to get revenge on the vampires who so cruelly killed his friends in this dark fantasy manga written by Takaya Kagami with illustrations by Yamato Yamamoto.
Things get even more chaotic in volume 15 as traitor Guren appears before Yuichiro and co. in Osaka and Kureto instigates a coup d’etat in Shibuya.
