A stunning new visual for the upcoming Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! was recently revealed by artist Shinomiya Yoshitoshi himself!
Shinomiya has produced art for a number of notable works, including Shinkai Makoto’s The Garden of Words and your name. The illustration, which features Ash and his partner Pikachu, shows them traversing through a vast jungle that conveys the scope of the journey laid before them!
Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! premieres on July 15 and celebrates the 20th anniversary of the beloved Pokémon franchise with a retelling of the very first season of the TV anime.
The magazine Sports Hochi will be releasing a special Pokémon issue on July 14, the day before the premiere. It comes with a poster of the new visual and informative content, which’ll include interviews with some of the main cast, introductions to Marshadow and Ho-oh, plus a history of Pokémon! The 24-page issue will be in all color and sell for 350 yen at select locations!
