Stand by Me Doraemon Movie Gets Sequel!

Popular anime movie Stand By Me Doraemon will be getting a sequel in 2020!

Stand By Me Doraemon was released as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations for Fujijko F Fujio’s original manga.

Once again co-directed by Yamazaki Takashi and Yagi Ryuichi, the sequel is inspired by volume 4 of the original manga, “A Grandmother's Recollections”. The story begins with Nobita finding a toy knitted for him by his beloved grandma, who passed away when he was in kindergarten. Using the time machine, he travels back to when he was three years old.

Stand By Me Doraemon 2 opens Aug. 7, 2020.
