Hypnosis Mic to Hit the Stage This November!

Rap battle franchise Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- is heading to the stage!

Titled Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage - track.1-, the stage adaptation begins performances at Tokyo’s Stella Ball in Nov. 2019 and will feature the Ikebukuro and Yokohama divisions. The Shibuya and Shinjuku divisions will star in their own play in 2020.

The stage play will feature a cast entirely separate from the original franchise. Ikebukuro division Buster Bros!!’s Yamada Ichirou will be played by Takano Akira, Yamada Jiro by Matsuda Shouta, and Yamada Saburou by Akashima Ryuto. Yokohama division Mad Trigger Crew’s Aohitsugi Samatoki will be played by Abe Aran, Iruma Jyuto by Mizue Kenta, and Rio Mason Busujima by Byrnes Yuki.

Hypnosis Mic is a popular franchise set in a world where war is waged not with weapons, but words. At the project's beginning in Sept. 2017, it focussed on four main units named Buster Bros!!!, MAD TRIGGER CREW, Fling Posse, and Matenrou, each controlling and fighting for their own territory.

Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage - track.1- runs at Stella Ball in Shinagawa from Nov. 15 to Dec. 1. A second stage play, Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage - track.2- will take place in 2020 featuring Shibuya division Fling Posse and Shinjuku division Matenro.
