Japanese real estate company and clean energy producer Ichigo has announced that internationally acclaimed anime auteur Oshii Mamoru is heading a new anime series to be released sometime between spring and early summer 2020!
Having developed the ideas behind the project for the past ten years, Oshii will not only serve as the chief director, but also provide the scenario and script. Ichigo is set to produce the series.
Oshii made his debut in 1983 with Urusei Yatsura: Only You, and is known internationally for his 1995 anime movie adaptation of Shirow Masamune's cyberpunk manga Ghost in the Shell. Other hits include Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, and The Sky Crawlers.
