Upcoming anime movie Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato has released a new key visual and announced its theme song!
Continuing from the TV anime, The Battle of Unato picks up with Ikoma and co arriving at Unato where they face new threats from the Kabaneri - zombie-like undead creatures. The just released key visual features an illustration by character designer and animation director Ebara Yasuyuki which places Mumei, who will be the focus of the movie, front and center.
It’s also been announced that EGOIST, who performed the opening theme to the TV anime will sing the main titles theme for the movie, “Sakase ya Sakase”.
Set in a world where humans must protect themselves from corpses transformed by a virus into undead creatures called Kabane, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress follows a young man named Ikoma who becomes a Kabaneri - a half-human, half-Kabane hybrid. The TV anime first aired in Apr. 2016 and went on to receive two compilation movies that premiered in Dec. 2016 and Jan. 2017.
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato opens in Japanese theaters in spring 2019.
