Splatoon 2 Sells Over 2 Million Copies in Japan!

Splatoon 2, the sequel to 2015 Wii U game Splatoon, has become the first Nintendo Switch title to achieve sales of over two million in Japan alone.

Games magazine Famitsu has reported that as of Feb. 11, Splatoon 2 has sold 2,016,182 copies (including Nintendo Switch download cards and Splatoon 2 sets but excluding downloads) since its release on Jul. 21, 2017.

These figures are a new record for Nintendo’s latest console with sales for the Switch itself standing at 3,766,244.
