Recently, Nintendo has been gaining a larger presence in the smartphone world with releases like Super Mario Run (Dec. 2016), Fire Emblem Heroes (Feb. 2017), and most recently Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp (Oct. 2017). While Super Mario Run kept the iconic side-scrolling style of classic Mario titles, Fire Emblem Heroes paired the Fire Emblem combat system with a gacha system for collecting your heroes. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp paired the charm of the original franchise with new mechanics centered around maintaining a campground.
Mario Kart, meanwhile, is another of Nintendo’s biggest titles, and it’s guaranteed to be a huge release. The series first came out back in 1992, with more 100 million copies sold to date. This includes 8 million copies of Mario Kart 8 and 7 million copies of the Nintendo Switch port Mario Kart 8 Deluxe alone.
At the moment further details on the app are still scarce, so fans will have to stay tuned and keep practicing!
