Based on Isshiki Makoto’s manga of the same name, the Piano no Mori TV anime has released a key visual as well as confirmed its major voice cast.
The story is centered on Ichinose Kai, a young boy who escapes his life in the red light district by playing a piano abandoned in the woods and later meets a bullied child prodigy. This encounter leads to him being introduced to a top piano teacher and former concert pianist.
Saitou Souma will play protagonist Ichinose Kai.
Suwabe Junichi will play Ajino Sousuke, Kai’s piano teacher.
Hanae Natsuki will play Kai’s friend, Amamiya Shuhei.
Ichinose Kai as an elementary school student will be played by Shiraishi Ryoko.
Amamiya Sosuke as an elementary school student will be played by Taichi You.
In addition to announcing the cast, Piano no Mori also revealed that voice actress Aoi Yuki will perform the brand new ending theme for the TV anime, “Kaeru Basho ga aru to iu koto”. Nakatani Manabu will direct with series composition by Itami Aki and Abe Mika, and chief animation director Kinoshita Sumie handling character design for Gainax.
Piano no Mori is slated to begin broadcasts in April 2018.
