Japanese anime news site Anime!Anime! has released the results of a questionnaire where they asked their readers to rank the top 10 anime from 2017!
559 participants picked from a list of 50 anime series they had seen that year (which included event screenings and movie premieres) between Dec. 27 and Dec. 29. The demographics were 62% male and 38% women, with 40% of them being at or under the age of 19.

Kemono Friends and Made in Abyss were so popular that they tied for the third rank with an overall approval rating of 8.1%. Interestingly enough, they're also both fantasy-type settings with super cute young characters!

Coming in hot for second place is Land of the Lustrous! This series first premiered in October and has an approval rating of 8.2%, with 11.7% of the fans being over the age of 20. One reason that fans regard the series so highly is the unique mix of animation and 3DCG that adds a beautiful sparkling effect to accurately represent the “jewel people”!

Sibling duo Izumi Masamune and Izumi Sagiri claim the top for Eromanga Sensei with the highest approval rating at 9.7%! Forbidden romances mixed with indie writers and illustrators have seen this romantic comedy a definite fan-favorite since the release of the light novel in 2013.
