Eureka Seven is getting a re-release on Blu-ray and DVD with newly drawn cover art by character designer Yoshida Kenichi!
Vol. 1, featuring episodes 1 to 26, is set to release on Aug. 29 with vol. 2 (ep. 26 to 50) following on Sep. 27, right around the time the first part of the new film trilogy Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution will be hitting the theaters.
The contents are essentially the same as the Blu-ray and DVD box released in 2009, but since those were first press limited edition items, they're nearly impossible to get. If you couldn’t get your hands on the previous edition, here’s your chance to make up for it!
Vol. 1 features the non-credit versions of ep. 26 as well as the opening and ending themes, while vol. 2 comes with non-credit versions of episodes 33 and 50 and also includes ep. 51 “New Order”, an alternative ending originally created for the event “Sony Music Anime Fes.06 Tokyo” held in 2006.
The Blu-ray box will retail for 18,000 yen, slightly cheaper than the last version, and the DVD for 17,000 yen.
Aired in 2005, Eureka Seven follows Renton and Eureka as they learn more about the world through their adventures. The series also gave birth to the movie Eureka Seven: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers (a.k.a. Eureka Seven: Pocketful of Rainbows ) in 2009, a sequel titled Eureka Seven: AO in 2012, and the upcoming trilogy.
If you haven’t seen this series yet, there’s still time to catch up before Hi-Evolution comes out~
