The upcoming Blue Exorcist/Ao no Exorcist sequel, Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, is scheduled to air on Jan. 7, and with Hatsumi Koichi directing it and five new characters making appearances, it’s been attracting a lot of attention! There’s only one more month to go until it finally airs, but it looks like there’s even more exciting news to look forward to: an opening theme by UVERworld and an ending theme by Akatsuki Rin!

UVERworld has recorded a lot of different themes for anime including D-tecnolife for Bleach, Colors of the Heart for Blood+, and Gekidou for D.Gray-man. Their new theme is titled Itteki no Eikyou. UVERworld also did a theme for Ao no Exorcist in 2011, as well as a film version of it in 2012.

Vocalist Takuya said about the news, "Ao no Exorcist will be getting a sequel, and UVERworld will once again be a part of it. We’ve done 2 songs before, but like the protagonists, we want our music to grow. This song will have a different sound than the others, and we hope that fans enjoy the new UVERworld song along with the anime."

Akatsuki Rin will be performing the ending theme titled Kono Te de. She made her major debut on Mar. 2 with the Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo R ( Kindaichi Case Files R ) ending theme Ketsui no Tsubasa. She commented on this new song saying, “I love this song, and I think it suits the world of this series. While singing, I was trying to be conscious of that strong will of fighting with the world despite conflict, and I hope everyone listening feels that.”
This will be released as her 2nd single on 2/15/2017, and a limited edition version will have a specially illustrated anime jacket.
