Hara Tetsuo’s Fist of the Blue Sky to Get New Anime Adaptation

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of Hara Tetsuo's best known work, Fist of the North Star, its prequel Fist of the Blue Sky is to get a new anime adaptation. Set in ‘30s Shanghai, the series follows Kasumi Kenshiro (AKA Yan Wang) - the secret successor to the Hokuto Shinken martial art, as he travels to China to help a friend in trouble with Triads.

Fist of the Blue Sky ran in Weekly Comic Punch from 2001 to 2010 and a manga sequel, Fist of the Blue Sky: Regenesis, began publication in the December 2017 issue of the magazine released on Oct. 25.

Supervised by Hara himself, Fist of the Blue Sky: Regenesis will air on Tokyo MX from April 2018.
