Designed based on Sakamoto’s glasses in the anime Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, these new glasses are manufactured in the city of Sabae, the leading glasses manufacturer in Japan which produces 90% of glasses domestically, and are now available for pre-order on Bandai’s official shopping site, Premium Bandai, for 14,040 yen (tax included, shipping and handling separate)!
There will also be a deluxe version (15,120 yen; tax included, shipping and handling separate) using a Swarovski crystal to recreate Sakamoto’s mole. Other goodies are being developed, as well, like the roomwear for turning into Sakamoto and a blackboard eraser pouch!

■ About the Glasses
These are based on the cool and overwhelmingly popular high school student and protagonist of the anime Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, the titular Sakamoto. They’re manufactured in Fukui Prefecture’s Sabae, where 90% of glasses are made domestically, at a frame maker shop by the name of Yamamori Megane.
Two versions are being made available: the full frame type, and the under-rim type. On the inside of the frames you’ll find Sakamoto’s name, as well as his high school class: 1-2.
His trademark mole under his left eye has also been recreated in a deluxe version using a Swarovski crystal on the lens, adding to a design that’s every bit as stylish as Sakamoto himself.
Also included is a lens cloth, featuring the name of his school, as well as his signature!
Pre-orders for other items have started, as well, including roomwear for turning into Sakamoto, as well as a blackboard eraser pouch, T-shirt, eye mask, WcDonald cap, and pass case.

■ About the Anime Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto
The comedy anime Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto was aired between April and July 2016 on TBS and BS-TBS, and follows high school student and protagonist Sakamoto. This overwhelmingly cool character doesn’t mind or react when his chair is taken away during class and will politely obey even the most ridiculous orders from his upperclassmen. The surrounding characters fall in love with his antics which are more like gags to viewers. The original manga was first serialized in 2011, won the 2013 Comic Natalie Grand Prize, and took second place in “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Otoko-ken” the following year.
