“Attack on Titan Exhibition" Crosses the Ocean and Moves to Taiwan from Dec. 11

The Attack on Titan exhibition which has been touring around Japan since 2014 finally makes its overseas debut: An event called “Attack on Titan Exhibition: Wall Taipei” will be held at Songshan Cultural Park, Taipei, Taiwan from Dec. 11. There is already a promotion with Titans going on in Taiwan. The sensation Attack on Titan created didn’t stop in Japan.

The “Attack on Titan Exhibition” was first displayed at The Royal Ueno Museum, Tokyo in November 2014. Later, in August 2015 it moved on to Oita Prefecture, then Osaka in September with more than 400,000 visitors in total during its duration.

“Attack on Titan Exhibition: Wall Taipei” will feature numerous original pages from the manga. Being a comprehensive exhibition of 3D videos and models where visitors can experience battle scenes of characters soaring the skies with 3D Maneuver Gear brimming with speed, there’s no doubt overseas fans will be frantic about it.

There are also plans for an original exhibition in collaboration with local creators only shown in Taiwan. Similarly, there will also be local goods only available in Taiwan with a diverse lineup including a 2016 official handbook, calendars, and shopping bags. Local fans certainly won’t be the only ones curious about them.

Projects coordinated with the exhibition are also interesting, such as the huge footprint appearing in schools and roads in Taipei. They are bringing the exhibition to the whole of the city with the shadow of a Titan reflected on a building and the river and by creating the effect of a mall crumbling.

A Survey Corps training facility has been established at Pacific Sogo Zhongxiao store, a large department store in Taipei, to counter the Titans. A super-size Titan head is placed at the entrance while the elevator is decorated with manga panels. In addition, there are panels installed at Ambassador Theater and Eslite Bookstore. You can check the details on Yahoo Taiwan’s recently opened special site. “Attack on Titan Exhibition: Wall Taipei” will run between Dec. 11, 2015 and Feb. 29, 2016 at Songshan Cultural Park in Taipei.
