Sound! Euphonium is a series from Kyoto Animation that became a massive topic of interest when a movie adaptation was greenlit. The title to the movie has now been confirmed and the release date announced. The movie is titled Sound! Euphonium the Movie: Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band and it will be released by Shochiku Japan-wide on April 23, 2016.
The movie will take a look back at the TV series, so it seems it will follow once again Kumiko Oumae and the other members of the concert band as they meet and grow together. A second TV anime has also been announced already for the series. The movie is likely to be the perfect way to prepare for season 2.
Details on advance tickets have also been released ahead of time. Advance tickets that include a first round bonus item will go on sale in theaters beginning Dec. 19. The tickets will come with a “Selfie Clear File.” There will be four versions of the clear file available and each ticket will include one random file. Ticket prices are 1,500 yen for adults and 900 yen for kids (both prices include tax). They will be on sale at participating theaters, which can be found on the official site. Sales will end once the bonus items are gone.
Trailers to the movie have also begun being posted. The first one packs in the series’ essence into 30 seconds. It seems fans are looking forward to how the series will look on the big screen and, since the series is themed after music, what the music will be like too.
