The smartphone app Divine Gate is becoming a TV anime, and broadcasts will begin in January 2016. Divine Gate is a popular game app that’s been downloaded more than 4.5 million times. It’s safe to say the anime will be a standout hit of the upcoming anime season. The anime adaptation being greenlit has already been announced at events and the like, and the main cast and staff has been revealed. This time, new additional characters and cast members have been posted.
Directing the Divine Gate anime is Noriyuki Abe who previously worked on The Heroic Legend of Arslan and Bleach. Natsuko Takahashi of My Love Story!! and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan fame is credited as series composer, and in charge of character designs is Ichiro Uno who has been largely engaged in the Naruto series and was also character designer on The World Is Still Beautiful. Producing the animation is Studio Pierrot.
The main cast is wonderful as well and includes Tetsuya Kakihara as Akane, Soma Saito as Aoto, Kanae Ito as Midori, Ayana Taketatsu as Hikari, Sora Amamiya as Yukari, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Ginji, and Yuichi Nakamura as Arthur.
The newly announced cast members are also just as talented. On the female side, there’s Ami Koshimizu as Ifrit, Mai Fuchigami as Undine, Kana Asumi as Sylph, and Yuri Yoshida as Metabon. On the male side, there’s Kousuke Toriumi as Lancelot, Akira Ishida as Oz, and Koji Yusa as Loki. Character visuals have also been posted, and they’re drawn with the game’s distinctive use of color.
Since we’re talking about a popular game app, fans are sure to have high expectations for the anime adaptation too. The first promotional video has also been posted, which gives more details to whet your curiosity. Keep it here for more news to come.
