Fafner in the Azure: Exodus, the popular broadcast to which aired between January and March of this year, is already heading into its second season. The sequel will begin this fall after a half-year break.
The broadcast times and a list of broadcast networks have been revealed. A newly released key visual also fans the flames of excitement for season 2. The TV broadcast will begin on Oct. 2, with the first broadcast airing on MBS and subsequent broadcasts on TBS, CBC, BS-TBS, and AT-X. There will also be a marathon streaming of season 1 to go along with the start of season 2.
Along with this broadcast information, the opening theme song has also been revealed. Titled “Dead or Alive,” it will be sung by group Angela. Part of the song has already been made available to listen to on the official site. You can enjoy up through the first chorus.
On the other hand, there will also be a marathon streaming on Niconico Live. Episodes 1–13 of season 1 will be available to stream beginning at 19:00 on Sept. 20, so fans can enjoy looking back at season 1 before the season 2 broadcast begins.
An event is also planned for right before the start of the broadcast. On the day following the marathon stream, Sept. 21, an event celebrating Kazuki Makabe’s birthday from Fafner in the Azure: Exodus will be held. The event will be live streamed to not just Cinemart Shinjuku screens, but screens in 13 theaters Japan-wide, from Hokkaido to Fukuoka.
Cast members Makoto Ishii, voice of Kazuki Makabe, Kohei Kiyasu, voice of Soshi Minashiro, Marika Matsumoto, voice of Maya Toomi, and Minoru Shiraishi, voice of Kenji Kondo, will be on stage. Episode 14 of Fafner in the Azure: Exodus will be screened and there will, of course, be a talk show segment with the cast as well.
