“Concrete Revolutio” to Premiere on Tokyo MX, Other Networks Oct. 4; Second PV Posted

Broadcast information has been revealed for director Seiji Mizushima’s original TV anime Concrete Revolutio: Chojin Genso. The anime will broadcast on Tokyo MX and other networks on Oct. 4. The second PV is also available to stream on the official homepage. It offers a peek ahead of the broadcast into the series’ world that takes place in another Japan and in which live superhumans.

Concrete Revolutio: Chojin Genso is a much-discussed series created by the tag team of director Seiji Mizushima, writer Sho Aikawa and animation production studio Bones, the same staff behind Fullmetal Alchemist. In an attempt to proactively distribute information prior to the broadcast, for the first time in the world of anime, the official homepage will be launched in 10 countries.

With this announcement also comes confirmed broadcast networks and times. The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX at 11:00 p.m. on Oct. 4. Subsequent broadcasts will be held on KBS Kyoto and Sun TV the same day at 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., respectively, and on BS11 beginning on Oct. 6 at 12:30 a.m.

The PV is set in an imaginary “Age of Gods” over 20 years after the war when Japan has grown by leaps and bounds. It expresses a landscape slightly different from the Japan we all know, and it’s this that is a huge attraction as well.

The series so far has been based around the idea asking what it would be like if superhumans from various works of fiction actually existed in real life. In an attempt to establish order, the Japanese government creates an auxiliary organization to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare called the Superhuman Overpopulation Research Laboratory, or Superhuman Bureau for short. Their main duty is finding and securing superhumans.

The protagonist is Jiro Hitoyoshi, a normal human who belongs to the Superhuman Bureau. Character voices supplied by the cast are also featured in the video, beginning with lead voice actor Kaito Ishikawa. There are also scenes of superhumans exhibiting all kinds of superpowers, so it seems action scenes will also be a highlight. The background music of the video is supplied by female singer/songwriter ZAQ who sings the opening theme “Katararezu Tomo,” giving viewers a chance to really appreciate her powerful singing voice.
