The TV anime HaruChika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru will begin broadcasting in January 2016. This mystery that takes place in a wind instrument club will finally begin at the dawn of the new year. In time with the announced broadcast schedule, character artwork and a new visual have also been released. The visual was drawn by Namaniku ATK and gives a feel for the anime as we draw nearer to the broadcast.
The anime is based on the novel series HaruChika by Sei Hatsuno. It began publication in 2008 and so far four books have been released: Taishutsu Game, Hatsukoi Sommelier, Kusou Organ, and Sennen Juliet. The series is set in a wind instrument club and the main characters strive to solve various mysteries. Along with the new book Wakusei Karon announced this spring, things are heating up indeed.
Along with the anime announcement, the talented staff will be talked about as well. Directing is Masakazu Hashimoto of Tari Tari and Soul Eater Not! fame and the series composer is Reiko Yoshida of Yowamushi Pedal and Girls und Panzer fame. Character drafts will be handled by Namaniku ATK and character designs by Asako Nishida. The animation will be produced by P.A. Works who also created Angel Beats! and Shirobako.
The new visual drawn by Namaniku ATK puts the spotlight on the two main characters: Haruta and Chika. There is also shaded character artwork drawn by character designer Asako Nishida. Nishida is tremendously popular among fans, having also worked on Love Live! and Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.
Attention has been building in recent years over anime themed around music. With mystery thrown in too, we wonder what the anime’s story will be like. Keep it here for more reports to come.
