ClariS Take the Stage at First Solo Concert at Zepp Tokyo

ClariS have continued their cheerful charge on the world of J-pop since their debut in 2010, and have sold a total of 1 million CDs. At long last, they’ve finally held their first solo concert. “1st Live: Tobira no Saki e” was held at Zepp Tokyo on July 31.

ClariS is a music duo that began with members Clara and Karen. They had their major debut with the opening theme song “Irony” to the 2010 TV anime Oreimo. They have continued to have a string of hits since, from tie-ins with anime, to singles and albums.

It’s a given then that the tickets to this concert sold out in an instant. The venue was absolutely packed to the brim with fans, who were wrapped up in excitement before the show even began. The concert began right at 6:00 p.m., and when the fans couldn’t contain themselves any longer, the two members of ClariS appeared onstage. Since their debut, the members of ClariS have only shown themselves concealed by mysterious veils, which hide half their faces. The unit still gives off a sense of mystery, and the fans packed into the venue went crazy over this.

The setlist contained 17 songs total, from their first single “Irony” to their latest single just released on July 29, “Anemone.” And for the encore they performed “Colorful,” the theme song to Madoka Magica the Movie Part 3: Rebellion, and “Connect,” the theme song to the Madoka Magica TV anime.
