ClariS debuted in 2010 with the opening theme “Irony” to the TV anime Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai, and achieved stardom overnight through various talked-about tie-ins with anime. In 2014 starting member Alice left the group, and new member Karen joined, making this the start of a reborn ClariS.
Clara and Karen are both high school students who are also active as the two-member group ClariS. The group sang the ending theme “Border” to the 2014 TV anime Tsukimonogatari, and this song was released as the reborn ClariS’ first single earlier this month on Jan. 7. We can expect big things from the group this year as well.
On Jan. 25, ClariS announced a new large-scale project. This summer, they will hold their first solo concert. The group performed for the first time at the anime song event Lis Ani! Live-5 on Jan. 25, where they performed two of their hit singles: “Connect” and “Border.” At the end of the performance, they announced news on the solo concert. The concert, titled “ClariS 1st Live ‘Tobira no Saki e,’” will come to Zepp Tokyo on July 31.
Nippon Budokan was the venue for the announcement and it was packed to the brim with fans. The surprise announcement received especially loud cheers from fans amidst the flowing glow of penlights. After the performance, the members of ClariS posted to Twitter, saying, “Thank you so much to everyone who waited for us! It was so fun! Let’s meet again this summer ☆.” Their comment brings excitement for even more to come from them.
It has also been confirmed that the group’s first best-of album will be released ahead of the solo concert on April 15. The big event will follow this. What will the concert be like for this form of ClariS that hadn’t been revealed to fans prior? This aspect as well will likely catch fans’ attention.
