The Sextuplets Are Growing Up! “Osomatsu-san” Teaser PV Released

In 1962, mangaka Fujio Akatsuka gave birth to his masterwork gag manga Osomatsu-kun and now it’s been revived in a new form. Another TV anime adaptation has been announced for 2015 and already become a hot topic.

However, the title is Osomatsu-san, a little different than before. This time, the sixth year elementary school students have become adults. Other characters will have aged too so it’s only natural that concern is growing over how they will be drawn.

In response to this anticipation, a teaser PV for the show was released on July 16 featuring the grown up figures of the sextuplets alongside dynamic images. Also, that character it just wouldn’t be a Fujio Akatsuka work without, Iyami, is in the trailer too so you’ve just got to see it. It’s really going to raise your expectations for this latest TV anime adaptation.

Also in conjunction with the trailer release, a special event has been announced. On Oct. 16, 2015, the “Muttsuko da yo, Zenin Shuugou!! Totoko mo Iru yo!” (We’re Sextuplets You Know, Everyone’s Coming!! Even Totoko Will Be Here Too!) event will be held at Mielparque Hall in Minato, Tokyo. It’s expected that a special screening of the Osomatsu-san TV anime will take place at the event.

In addition, just as the title suggests, the voice actors for all six of the sextuplets plus Totoko will be out in full force at the event. A troupe of grade A voice actors has already been announced for the show and seem set to cause quite a stir! The sextuplets are: Takahiro Sakurai, Yuichi Nakamura, Hiroshi Kamiya, Jun Fukuyama, Daisuke Ono and Miyu Irino, while Aya Endo will play Totoko.

Members of the creative team, director Yoichi Fujita and Shu Matsubara (series composition), are also set to participate and will certainly have a few tales to tell about the new TV anime. Masato Kuwahara from Fujio Productions will present the event. Applications for tickets began on July 16, please see the official website for all the details.
