Announced in the August issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene on sale Friday, July 15, the currently serialized work Servamp is getting an anime adaptation. Along with this, members of the voice cast were revealed already as well. Five members of the cast were announced, beginning with Takuma Terashima who will be voicing main character Mahiru Shirota.
Servamp is a popular manga by Strike Tanaka that has been in serialization since 2011. Its story begins with high school freshman Mahiru Shirota crossing paths with a black cat and being dragged into a conflict with vampires. Up through volume seven of the manga has been published, and volume eight will hit shelves in Japan on Monday, July 27. A series of five consecutive drama CDs have also begun being released. The first was released on June 24, and the second will be release on July 24. An event is also slated to be held on Jan. 31, 2016. With this big announcement of much on the way, excitement will likely build more and more.
In addition to Takuma Terashima as Mahiru, confirmed cast members include Yuki Kaji as Kuro, the black cat Mahiru comes across, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as the servamp Tsubaki, Hiro Shimono as Misono Arisuin, the son of a famous family, and Kazuma Horie as Snow Lily.
Each member will also play their respective character on the drama CDs. Additional cast members will be announced in the coming days as well. Keep it here for a follow-up report.
The cover of the August issue of Monthly Comic Gene in which the above news was announced introduced in large print that the anime adaptation to Servamp had been greenlit. This is even published in the prefatory color pages of the manga as well. The supplement included with the manga is a deluxe magnet sheet featuring Kuro, Rihito Jikiruland Todoroki, and Lowless.
